Unconventional journey to design
Before embarking on my journey as a designer, I had a passion for teaching. I loved learning how each student approached the curriculum because it helped me understand what I needed to change in my lesson plans to make them more inclusive. Being a student teacher taught me that plans are always dynamic, and the most impactful changes occurred when I had the opportunity to learn more about the students and their motivations. Although I cherished my experiences as a student teacher, my old passion for art grew stronger, while my new passion for psychology also blossomed. I wanted to find a blend of my two passions, which led me to product design!
Starting my product design journey offered me numerous opportunities, including building a design system from scratch and leading design efforts for internal tools. With these opportunities, I was able to learn and apply these skillsets to my day-to-day work like design strategy, visual design, motion design, storytelling, and research design.
